About Private Obedience

Instinct Canine's Private Obedience course will teach you and your dog everything offered in group class, but in a one on one setting. These private lessons work to nurture a strong relationship with your dog through basic obedience, so you can lay the groundwork for a harmonious partnership. We will focus on essential skills, such as settle, place, recall, impulse control, loose leash walking, sit, down, sit-stay, down-stay, and eye contact on command. You will also learn the art of fairly saying "no" to guide your dog towards the right behaviour.

*Please note this class is not designed for dogs with reactivity issues. If your dog is reactive, we encourage you to learn more about our Reactive Rover course!

Important Details:

$795+HST
Seven weekly lessons that range from 30-minutes to one hour in length
Designed for dogs of all ages
Dogs wear a collar and a six-foot leash in class
We begin to train your dog using treats, but will slowly teach you how to remove them to achieve a dog that is eager to please you
Dogs are required to have their first two rounds of puppy vaccinations and/or proof of titering
Prerequisite: none

Tuesday-Thursday, 10:00am-1:00pm
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, 5:30pm-8:30pm

Are private lessons right for you?

Instinct Canine's Private Obedience course is a great option for dogs who are nervous around other dogs, if you are looking for the more personalized approach, or if the timing of group classes is not an option for you. We are also able to address some minor behaviour issues in this course as well, excluding reactivity.
