E-Collar Course
Instinct Canine's E-Collar course will slowly and fairly introduce your dog to an electric collar, so you can know that you have a reliable method of communication that ensures they safely return to you every time. This tool allows us as handlers to gently and fairly reinforce our dogs to pay attention to us in such a way that does not cause harm to the dog. If it causes pain, you're doing it wrong!
What to expect during e-collar training
Instinct Canine's E-Collar course is four weeks in length and located at our Burlington training facility. During the course, you will learn that a gentle tapping sensation is all a dog should feel; similar to how you would feel a tap on your shoulder. Through this course, we will first work to ensure your dog understands what an acceptable recall is. Next, you will learn the mechanics of how the electronic collar works and how to use it safely. Finally, we will introduce distractions with the e-collar in use so you have the confidence that your dog will come when instructed - wherever you may be and allow your dog the freedom of being off leash!
