Anna Marie Stewart is the founder and owner of Instinct Canine Training. Her passion and love of dogs is evident to anyone who works and trains with her. Through many years of experience working with dogs in training facilities for both service animals and pet behaviour she is able to approach training in a diversified approach for success. She also has a strong history in animal health and knows that it isn't always just the behaviour, but a wholistic approach to what is going on with your dog. It's about becoming the effective leader your dog looks up to for direction.
Mia and Keziah are her current canine partners. Mia (an 80lb mix breed) is a rescue dog that was left abandoned in a yard and joined the family in 2017 at the age of 18 months old. By no means a perfect dog, Mia is the reason Instinct Canine Training is here. Her unique history has made training a joy through the challenges it presented. Mia is prone to insecurity and reactivity at times, making training her a huge learning experience and one of the reasons Anna Marie is so passionate about teaching how to manage reactivity. She is a solid piece of the family and the original demo dog for group classes. Keziah (Fox Red Labrador) joined the family pack in 2021 as a puppy from a reputable breeder. Keziah is currently on the path to training and competing in Rally Obedience. Keziah is also a demo dog for group classes and delights to show her enthusiasm to work. It doesn't matter where you start your journey in training with your dog (either from a rescue orginazation or breeder), Anna Marie understands the complexities of both worlds.
Instinct Canine Training approaches training in a unique and balanced way. We don't just look at the behaviour. We look into the root of the problem and create change in the whole life of your dog. Anna Marie's education covers a broad spectrum of understanding behaviour, how the canine brain thinks and multiple tools that can aid in training dogs. All which are evident in her continued success. Currently Anna Marie is under the Mentorship of Karen Laws and her Dog T.R.I.B.E. training academy and working towards accreditation (CDT-KA) through the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals).
We can't wait for you to join the pack and discover the Instinct Canine Training difference!
